Before you start working on an assigned lesson or project, it is necessary that you will have viewed and/or completed all required pre-learning resources, activities, or related items. Pre-learning is meant to reasonably prepare you for the work that you will be asked to complete. In order to gain access to any associated assessment activities, required pre-learning must be completed. Pre-learning items will generally be found in the M#: See, Read, Watch sub-module (where # will be the module number, e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc.).
All coursework (everything) is listed in the course schedule and anything not visible in the course shell (or not listed in the D2L calendar) will appear once you've completed it's access requirements (also known as content restrictions). To make hidden content viewable, such as project briefs or sequenced content, you must complete associated pre-learning items. On rare occasion, this means that you must complete part 1 of an assignment to earn access to part 2 of a related assignment. Learn more about content restrictions here.
Once you begin working on any assignment, project, or lesson – take care to follow all instructions/details exactly as they are given to you. This includes creative briefs, assignment descriptions, lesson chapters, course textbook readings, and discussion prompts. Perfection is not the goal, but learning is, and ability to achieve acceptable, better than average, or superb (above and beyond) competency is possible and support is available to help you.
Remember to ask questions if you are confused or need further clarification sooner rather than later.
