An organized folder structure (OFS) is the second key component of SFS. Think of your files and folders as a family with parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, and so on. In this way, your files become organized within an ordered family/folder structure (OFS). Start by using a unique folder for each course you are taking (semantically named) and apply an SFN approach for folder naming. For example, if your course was Adobe InDesign - MGD 1013 a good folder name would be Mgd1013-InDesign. It is wise to continue your organized inside of your course folder by creating sub-folder categories such as Assets, Assignments, Projects, Lessons, and so on. Within those folders you can create more folders whenever it helps you to stay organized such as Pdf, Jpg, Src, etc.

While this might seem a bit tedious at first, you will surely notice how much easier this makes your life when it comes time to find your files, work on them, and send/upload/submit them. This is especially true when working with more and more files (which you will do). You can also apply this level of digital literacy outside of a course with Dj at your discretion.
PRO TIP: OFS works best with SFS.
👍 Your future self will likely thank you for this level of organization!
